Coronavirus (COVID-19) FAQs

About Coronavirus

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that can cause respiratory infections. The most recently discovered coronavirus causes coronavirus disease COVID-19. Find more information at the World Health Organization’s website.
Shortcut continues to monitor updates on COVID-19 from public health authorities such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO), and local health officials. We continue to take appropriate actions as necessary to protect the health and well-being of our service professionals, clients, and corporate partners.

In addition, Shortcut is working to expand its in-home business to accommodate the current work-from-home population, while protecting its service professionals.

Clients

Like its service professionals, Shortcut advises clients to practice good hygiene and to wear a facemask during hair services. Customers should continue to wash their hands frequently, cover their nose and mouth when sneezing/coughing, and use sanitizers and disinfectants with 70% alcohol content or higher. Per the CDC, the company asks that people who feel sick or have been positively tested for COVID-19 avoid booking services with Shortcut and other on-demand providers. Above all Shortcut encourages people to stay informed, using information provided by the CDC and WHO.
If you must cancel an appointment due to COVID-19 concerns, please message Shortcut Staff in the app to have all charges 100% refunded.
If you are in need of an essential service, please chat our Pros directly to explain your situation. They are authorized to accept appointments that are deemed essential, at their own discretion.

Pros

The health and safety of our clients and service professionals is of the utmost importance. Service professionals have been advised of standard practice and procedures as outlined by WHO to protect themselves and others and prevent the spread of disease. Shortcut service professionals have been advised to not accept or to cancel appointments they feel uncomfortable performing for safety reasons. We've instituted a 14 day stay at home policy in the event of mild illness, respiratory symptoms, or fever.

In addition, Shortcut continues to work to accommodate its service professionals whose brick and mortar businesses have been drastically affected by the virus outbreak. The company continues to emphasize its in-home services so its professionals can continue to support their families as they face this stark change in human behaviors.
Shortcut’s service professionals are equipped with face protection, plastic gloves, disinfectants for tools, and hand sanitizers with an alcohol content of at least 70% to ensure all equipment and persons are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected. The company has communicated health and safety practices with current clients via email and potential clients via its social media channels. Further, Shortcut continues to work with its corporate partners to provide services to employees working remotely in their homes, as appropriate. Shortcut service professionals have been advised to not accept or cancel appointments if they feel uncomfortable performing for safety reasons and to stay home in the event of mild illness, respiratory symptoms, or fever.

Currently, the company has a 14-day “no appointment policy” that has been implemented for all service professionals who have recently traveled to countries with widespread outbreak, including China, South Korea, Iran, and Italy. In instances in which Shortcut is notified of a service professional or client testing positive for COVID-19, that individual will be temporarily suspended from using the services until he or she is medically cleared.

Events

Shortcut is following the lead of our corporate partners to either reschedule or cancel events according to each companies' respective safety policies. For events that have not been cancelled, we are/will strictly adhere to the health and safety policies outlined above.
