What is a Shortcut College Ambassador?

A Shortcut College Ambassador is a true extension of our brand on campus. They are co-eds who know the value of convenient, premium haircuts in a time where most rely on shaky-handed roommates for buzz cuts. Now, they’re spreading the word about how Shortcut and AXE are changing the face (hair and style) of personal grooming to fellow students.

What does a Shortcut College Ambassador Actually Do?

Shortcut College Ambassadors get paid to guide their respective campus to peak dapperness each semester by educating their peers about the easiest, most effective ways to look their very best (hint: Shortcut). And they’re equipped with the products and resources to do just that.

The teams at Shortcut and AXE HQ will be there every step of the way to provide guidance and feedback. Our Ambassadors regularly compete with each other in challenges that actually translate to tangible real world job experience – in business development, social media and PR . This probably isn’t what your parents meant when they told you to “get a job,” but it’s pretty close.

Responsibilities include:

Social media posting
Leading on-campus communication effort about both Shortcut and AXE
Educating student body on Shortcut and AXE
Encouraging peers to download the Shortcut application
Organizing on-campus events for premium haircuts and styling with trusted grooming products

What can a Shortcut College Ambassador expect to get out of this?

Shortcut Ambassadors have the opportunity to work with one of the fastest growing start-ups in the country and the number one male grooming brand in the world, AXE *. Ambassadors also get a first-look at our newest product updates, complimentary in-dorm haircuts, as well as countless chances to earn free swag and cash prizes for spreading the good word.

We will be accepting applications on a rolling basis until October 1, 2016 on select NYC and LA campuses. Spots are limited, so hustle is encouraged. Get going!

What grooming services does Shortcut provide?

Shortcut offers premium haircuts, clipper cuts and styling for all hair styles, textures and lengths. Beard trims are optional, but awesome.

Who are the Shortcut barbers and stylists?

Shortcut barbers are licensed and experienced grooming professionals who are passionate about their craft. Our barbers have worked at some of the most notable barbershops and salons in New York City & Los Angeles, and each one has been handpicked, vetted and trained to deliver a premium grooming experience.

Is Shortcut safe?

Customers can rest assured knowing that all Shortcut barbers are carefully vetted and background checked before joining our team.

How long will my appointment take?

Depending on how many services you request, times will vary. A single haircut and styling takes approximately 30 minutes.

Ambassadors

What is AXE’s involvement with the program?

AXE has developed some of the best men's hair products, which are the perfect compliment to a Shortcut service. They’re the yin to our yang.

How long does the ambassador role last?

The ambassador program will run the entirety of the fall 2016 semester.

What are the roles & responsibilities of an ambassador?

Ambassadors are on-campus to spread the good word about Shortcut and AXE. Specific program details will be communicated to the ambassadors by the Shortcut and AXE teams via Slack, text, email, etc.

How are ambassadors selected?

We’re looking for the best and brightest. Students with a genuine enthusiasm for the brands’ missions and a self-starter mindset will be considered. Start by filling out the application. We’ll be in touch with next steps if we see a fit.

How much do ambassadors get paid?

Aside for the complimentary swag and free haircuts, Ambassadors are paid based on completed challenges they’ll be tasked with and how well they perform. Ambassadors might be tasked to encourage friends to try a Shortcut cut and style. The more friends they get to try the service, the more cash they earn. All payments will be made at the end of the semester and can be tracked through their respective Ambassador portal.
